Rekohu… (which means “misty skies”) is some 800 kilometres to the East of mainland New Zealand. Henga Lodge is located only 8 minutes drive from Karewa Airport and 10 minutes from the main town Waiteke (Waitangi).
Situated in the infamous “Roaring Forties,” the Chathams are renowned for spectacular scenery, abundant sea life, the many species of rare or endangered birds and plant species, for the clean environment, and friendly locals.
The Islands are the homeplace of the Moriori People. Enslaved, murdered and taken to the very edge of extinction, the Moriori people today are a determined, yet peaceful people with a long and proud heritage of peace and harmony.
